4.0% is the first and only positive of 2009. It is to be welcomed because it underlines the observation that the demand situation is no longer deteriorating. It will provide some opportunity for media acclamation and therefore needs to be set within a rational context:

◊ this is not really a recovery; not quite yet.

Munich; MUC Germany Just reported: passenger numbers drop by -0.2%.

Rome Fiumicino; FCO Italy Reports passengers up by 6.4%.

Istanbul; IST; IST Turkey Passenger numbers for the month leap by 23.5%.

Seoul Incheon; ICN South Korea Total passengers rise by 7.3%.

London Gatwick; LGW UK Total passengers up by 4.5%.

Barcelona; BCN Spain Total passengers rise by 4.2%.

Zurich; ZRH Switzerland Just released: a passenger increase of 3.8%.

Copenhagen; CPH Denmark Passenger flows rise by 1.1%.

Oslo; OSL Norway Passenger traffic up by 3.8%.

Vienna; VIE Austria Latest report shows passengers down by -1.8%.

San Diego; SAN USA Passenger flows rise by 2.3%.

London Stansted; STN UK Latest report shows passengers down by -2.7%.
