Dragon Boat Festival Boosts Hainan’s Airports

This week’s Dragon Boat Festival has delivered a timely boost to Hainan’s airports.  

The island’s biggest airport, Haikou Meilan, today announced a 9.4% year on year uplift in passengers for the current week. This is the highest weekly percentage increase since the start of  2025.

Last year’s Festival was somewhat lacklustre in generating passengers at the island’s airports but passenger volumes this year are much more encouraging.

And that should promote some healthy sales at the island’s glittering shopping complexes.
